Umphrey’s McGee, the fantastic improv-minded, jam band recently made a stop at Sacramento’s Ace of Spades on the latest leg of their 25th Anniversary tour.
The highly skilled sextet, which formed while most of the band members were students at Notre Dame, has steadily progressed to become one of the most highly regarded bands in the jam world.
The band brought exceptional production into the Sacramento club and delivered a pair of searing sets that underscored their collective chops as well as their ongoing pursuit of excellence in sound.
With a dozen studio albums under their belt, the group have quite a wealth of material to choose from for live performances and make an impressive effort to vary their set lists from night to night.
And on this night in Sacramento, they delivered a pair of unique sets that felt fresh and made one wonder if they’ll keep it going strong for another 25 years.
