Welcome to the February 2025 edition of, Goth Me Up, Fam! Below are select events we think you’ll especially enjoy, followed by a roundup of all the notable live events in the bay area that we could find.
While not every listing is going to completely fit under the goth umbrella, we think most people who identify as goth are also music nerds that have an interest in the odd and eccentric.
Hopefully you’ll find this information useful, and if so, please share this page with your friends.
Recommended Events for February 2025:
Glom Nite (Opening Night) – February 1st at DNA Lounge, San Francisco
Touted as a new night leading up to a touring festival, Glom Nite has a lineup of talented and consistently active DJs from the scene, including Arizona transplant Plastic Disease. Two rooms of dancing will span genres such as post-punk and industrial. The opening night will also be giving out Nosferatu film download codes, posters, and stickers to the first ten paid at the door. Yes, it’s yet another goth night. But it could also be an opportunity to witness the birth of a club that explodes in popularity.
Lucas ‘Granpa’ Abela (fka Justice Yeldham) – February 7th at The Lab, San Francisco
Aussie musician and performance artist Lucas Abela (FKA Justice Yeldham) is arguably more industrial than most industrial artists today, even if he doesn’t use the term. How many acts have his level of confrontational performance art and experimental sounds? Mic-ing large shards of glass that he then vibrates using air from his mouth, Abela usually cuts himself in the process, bleeding all over his homemade instruments that he runs through multiple layers of distortion. He also collabed on several Death Grips tracks.
Combichrist – February 14th at Neck of the Woods, San Francisco
Andy LaPlegua’s Combichrist project has managed to endure almost three decades of touring and releases, evolving over the course of its history from just a dude with a laptop to a full live band. This Valentine’s Day sees the project performing a stripped down, electronic-centric version of itself, with support from a bunch of great local talent including Treasvre and DJ Decay. Come spend the most romantic day of the year listening to a guy scream about throats full of glass while questioning just what exactly the fuck is wrong with you people.
Tim Cappello – February 21st at The Knockout, San Francisco
Sexy sax man is still around! Most know him from his performance in the cult classic vampire flick The Lost Boys, but he’s also an experienced touring musician, playing with the likes of Tina Turner and Ringo Starr. Even at nearly 70 the codpiece-clad guy is still ripped, still sexy, and even more talented. Not just a saxophonist, Cappello also sings and runs his instrument through a number of effects to extend its utility. And of course, he almost always plays a cover of “I Still Believe”.
Glixen – February 25th at Bottom of The Hill, San Francisco
Shoegaze is having a bit of a resurgence these days, with lots of the classic bands such as Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine seeing renewed interest from a younger crowd. We’ve also seen a massive number of new acts come onto the scene, and while most are pretty damn mediocre, there are standouts like Glixen making waves and building popularity. Glixen perform at Bottom of the Hill as part of the 2025 Noise Pop series of shows, and this could be your last opportunity to see the band perform in a tiny venue.
Blone Noble – February 28th at The Knockout, San Francisco
This artist kind of came out of nowhere to me, but made a big impression. He’s like if you stuck Nick Cave, David Bowie, and Morrissey into a blender, but still alive and less messy. Catch him with a totally stacked lineup of talent at The Knockout on February 28th, including Pink Stiletto and Blood Rave.
