Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler started with a bang, playing hits ‘Sweet Emotion’ and ‘Cryin’’ back to back at San Francisco’s Masonic Auditorium. It was the night before the release of country song “We’re All Somebody From Somewhere”, Tyler’s solo debut. His “Out On a Limb” tour mixes Aerosmith tunes with new material, resulting in a classic rock show with country-gypsy vibes, courtesy of Nasville’s Loving Mary band. Between numbers, Tyler shared stories and anecdotes behind the songs.
Tyler is rocking strong at 68. His charisma immediately gets people going. Even though everyone was assigned a seat prior to the show, most people never got a chance to sit down during the 90-minute set – “What the fuck are you sitting down for?!?,” Steven screamed in his iconic, raspy voice, “You think this shit is over? Dream on baby!,” before opening the encore with a piano solo of Dream On.
