The Emerald Cup
Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa
December 15-16, 2018
The Emerald Cup is Northern California’s premier cannabis destination, while advancing the concept of sustainable, outdoor farming. Its reputation is firmly solidified as the largest, most respected, organic, outdoor, cannabis competition in the world. As a group, The Emerald Cup prides itself in bringing together experts and educators in the cannabis field to our fellow farmers, patients, and patrons each year. It is a community celebration that has grown to become a global movement honoring the year’s finest, organic, sun-grown, cannabis harvest.
But it’s not just weed. It’s a music festival too with terrific acts like Gogol Bordello, Cut Chemist, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Elevaters, Nattali Rize, Chali 2Na (what a great name!), and Lyrics Born.
Here’s what SF Sonic’s Pollen Heath had to say about last year’s Emerald Cup:
On an unseasonably warm day in December, The Roots played at one of the most uniquely Californian festivals of the year: The Emerald Cup. More than just another weed-off, the Emerald Cup is the world’s only outdoor organic cannabis competition, and the longest running pot contest in the country. Now in its 14th year, this NorCal Cup has come a long way since its underground and totally OG beginnings – from 23 entries by old-school growers who weren’t necessarily growing legally and were understandably paranoid about showing their faces at a pot competition to nearly 1,000 entries from cannabis farmers proudly showing off the best of their harvest.
